Custom metadata

Hi there,

A cataloguer at my institution created a custom field in a metadata template but gave the field the wrong label. How can we either delete the custom field so that we can start over or change the label of the custom field?

  Hi Darren. What I do in this situation is:

  --Go to Metadata/Bulk Seed Metadata and "Download Existing Seed Metadata". Save it unchanged so you have it as a backup.

  --"Save as" another version of the same spreadsheet that you will be editing.

  --In the new version, copy and paste the wrongly named column into a new column and fix the Label in the new column.

  --Remove all data from the wrongly named column, leaving it blank except for the old incorrect label

  --Delete any other columns (existing fields that you don't want to change) except for URL, the empty column with the old label, and the new column with the correct label

  --Upload File with this version of the spreadsheet, choosing Overwrite Seed Metadata
