Bulk add custom metadata fields in seeds?

Hello community,

I'm curious if anyone can recommend ways to bulk add custom metadata fields to seeds? Currently, I have numerous seeds that all receive the same custom metadata field, but opening each seed and manually adding it to the metadata can be quite tiresome and causes a bit more human error than if there was a way to bulk add. Any suggestions? Is there possibly a spreadsheet trick to applying custom metadata fields to seeds in bulk?

  Hi Leah,

  Yes, you can upload bulk seed metadata in spreadsheet format, even to add or edit custom metadata fields. Follow the instructions here just like you would for metadata in our standard set of Dublin Core elements and just add any custom fields as further columns in the spreadsheet to apply them, too. I'd recommend that approach for especially long lists of seeds. And when the seeds are fewer, you can simply follow the steps here to select a few of them from your seed list at-a-time and add/edit metadata when you need.
