Security Updates to Wayback and Archive-It.org
We’re making two important updates to improve the security and reliability of https://archive-it.org/ and https://wayback.archive-it.org/:
-
Verification for public visitors: When accessing archived pages in Wayback and elements of collection and organization pages on archive-it.org, visitors may experience a brief verification process before the page loads. This helps protect the site from automated traffic. If you are logged in to your Archive-It account, you will not see this verification. Please note that users must have JavaScript enabled in their browser to complete the verification process.
-
HTTPS only: All archived pages will now be served over secure HTTPS. Attempts to access a page over HTTP will automatically redirect to the HTTPS version.
These changes are designed to work seamlessly and should not affect the day-to-day use of our platform for most users. If you notice any issues, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for your patience as we work to enhance the security and stability of Archive-It's services.
