Supressing all captures of a specific seed
A colleague recently asked here about suppressing/embargoing certain captures of a seed. My question is about suppressing ALL captures of a seed: We may have crawled it and found it doesn't capture well enough to join the archive, or we could receive a takedown notice from a website owner. Am I correct in that we can make the seed private, and it won't show to the public, but if we delete the seed, its captures will still show on the front end? Thanks :)

Hi, Sarah. For production crawls or saved test crawls, making the seed private will remove the specific seed from your public archive-it.org collection page. Any captures will still be accessible via full text search or direct Wayback URL. To block access to Wayback captures, please contact us and provide the information detailed in our Help Center article.
Hi, Margie. I believe your question pertains to a seed in a private collection that is displayed on archive-it.org versus captures. Since private collections are only visible to you or to anyone with whom you've shared the private collection link, the archive-it.org collection page will indeed display all of the seeds in your seed list. Once a private collection is made public, only seeds set to public are displayed on the archive-it.org collection page. If you really don't want the seed displayed on your private archive-it.org collection page, go to your collection's Seeds tab > tick the box next to the seed you want to delete > select 'Delete Seeds'. Test crawls are not indexed, so archive-it.org will not have a link to a Wayback calendar page; only production and saved test crawls are indexed. I hope this helps!
