How to compare two crawls

Overview

You can select two separate crawls to see changes over time or the effects of any scoping rules added since the first crawl.  This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to select two crawls for comparison.

Prerequisites 

Two completed crawls in the same collection.

Instructions

Start in your collection's Crawls tab with the list of Crawl Reports' Crawl IDs visible:

• Select the first Crawl ID to compare by clicking the checkbox. This crawl report will display on the left by default.
• Select the second Crawl ID to compare by clicking the checkbox. This crawl report will display on the right. 
• Switch the order of the Crawl IDs by clicking the blue circle between them if you need to.
• Click the Compare Crawls button that's now activated. This will generate the comparison report.

Outcome 

The comparison report will indicate the differences between documents, data, hosts and blocked hosts in the two crawls.
